Most of the laws of the western world seem to be some adaptation of the Big Ten.
You know---up the mountain and bring back the tablets----and Thou Shalt Not.
The Christian religions still teach and adhere to the Big Ten and teach condemnation of those who dare to live a life outside of the teachings.
But you only have to look at the variances of "The Word" taught by a plethora of "Christian" sects to see what a divergence of beliefs there can be in one community.
How hypocritical can some of these religions be.
And how hypocritical can members of our society be.
The Catholic Church teaches condemnation of same sex relationship, yet defends, protects and hides members of their hood who are bum fucking choir boys, orphans and students placed in their care.
Members of their congregations alienate members of their own families because they dare to love yet defend their offending teachers.
They even have an old guy in Rome who sets rules on contraception and abortion---it amazes me that they don't publish a book on acceptable positions and limit activity to the bedroom and only on Sundays after attending Church.
Don't get me wrong here----I'm not just picking on the Catholic Church---although they are an easy target----but other "christian" churches are guilty of the same sins.
Hey, a friend of mine was the Monsignor in charge of marriage guidance in this state-----I couldn't help but say to him---"Hey Mons, what would you know about it. You've never been married and never had sex". He said "But I've read all of the books"
Geez, I didn't know that relationships came with an owners manual.
Guys in our communities regularly bitch to their mates because their partners wont participate in anal sex but are totally abhorred by the two guys next door who regularly engage in self same act
Guys love a girl who will spend time licking and sucking their dick but don't want to spent equal time returning the favour.-----but then they are abhorred by by two girls spending the required time with each other.
My State made a big statement by legalising homosexuality.-----my thought at that stage was "I hope they don't make it compulsory".
Some places in this sad world of ours still make sexual activity between two consenting adults of the same sex, illegal.
How sad is this world, and our christian religions, when they cant recognise love.
Hey---am I gay---
Nup, sorry, I really like girls too much
So why write this---
I read probably the saddest post from a lovely young lady who outed herself to her religious parents who's reaction was abominable.
I defend the right of anyone to be in love and I feel sorry for anyone in this world who cant recognise it.
A very wise man----John Lennon----once said----"Give love a chance"
You are my spirit animals

I'm a catholic and one of my best mates is gay. Each year I attend the Mardi Gras and I love it.
Catholocism is outdated. But I am highly offended by this. I know many, many catholics and christians who are quite open with gay and lesbians.
Phish
So do I---but I am equaly offended by the condemnation rained upon gays and same sex couples in the name of christian belief or the "law"
Oh, Phish---I had to chuckle that you differnetiated between Catholics and Christians
I love GAY, it’s the new black
Hal
You may be right---as the Nun said --"This black is becomming a habit"
My philosophy? Don't knock it till you've tried it.
I honestly think that should've been one of the ten commandments...;)
Stacy
I'm not going to knock it---
But sweet, I'm not going to try it either.
I think it's more like---If it aint hurting anyone else, then it's fine
Steve
It looks like Churches have become one stop shopping supermarkets.
They have gone from teaching christianity and giving comfort to running lives and lifestyles
Agreed! :)
my friend gorilla bananas makes an excellent point on all this: Let's not forget that Christians invented speaking in tongues, which is a form of cunnilingus masturbation
Actually speaking in tongues was just speaking in different languages, but it has since been turned into garbled mindless nonsense. I guess Emma's interpretation is more interesting than that, though.
It's cowardly and pig headed the way people will use the bible to bash others over the head, when religion aside, these fuckers just want to go around causing trouble, justifiably, exploiting religion to do it.
I couldn't give a fig who's gay- all love is good regardless of the gender.
The problem isn't if two same genders love each other- but there's not enough love in the world and it's a shame that soem love incite hate. But people like that will find some other justification for spreading their venom.
Good post Clyde.

I don't know what happened there, but clearly Blogger felt my words profound enough that they felt it best to repeat. :)
@memphis steve
I know speaking in tongues doesn't really mean that....I just think speaking in tongues is so stupid, rolling around on the floor babbling...mine is a better interpretation!

clyde...GOD DAMN IT!
I'm so proud of you. You have me with my eyes all watery.
I know of her...I've stalked her blog. She is wonderful, isn't she? I was proud of her. That is a hard thing to do.
Religion sometimes tears me in two. I grew up Catholic and knew many nuns and priests. I knew three nuns that left the church and eventually married.
I had it easy with my mother...I told her when I was 13-14 years old...she said she already knew. I came to her originally crying...broken hearted. My young heart fell in love with a girl and her parents found out about us...and they sent her to live with her grand parents or something. She loved me too. I remember seeing her sad face as they drove away to the air port. I then ran home to mother. I would have been devastated if she had pushed me away.
I heart you clyde...I do.
Take care sweetie. Ciao.
Clyde...I want to give a shout out to Ubermouth...Hi honey. I miss you something fierce. :D
ciao babe.
Hey Spiky- That is soooooooooo sweet!xoxoxox
Emma
Sounds like a real mouth full to me
Steve
Yep, I think I'll go with Emma
Uber
That's a bad stutter you have there. Yep, there are a lot of thinks done in the name of religion ----- I'm guessing that people are looking for something else to blame for their prejudices.
Emma
Yep, I'm sticking with you
Spiky
It just pissed me off that so many peolple want to interfere or have something to say about someone's life.
Geez, mind your own business, live your own life and stop using religion as a justification.
And yes, you are right---the lady in question seems delightful----more power to her
Spiky & Uber
How about you two get a room
Ahhh, I think I might have been the one to inspire you eh Clyde? I agree with everything in this post. Unfortunately there will always be ignorance out in the world. I don't think people have to accept my lifestyle but I do think they should respect mine and millions of others choices in the US. To me there is a huge difference in accepting and respecting. You can respect without accepting. Sadly many don't see the line between the two.
Thanks for the post love!
Jade
Ahhh, I think you might be right.
Hey I'm not accepting your life style---hell, I'd be the first to try to talk you accross the street---but I'll be the first to accept you as you and respect your life style.
Jade, I dont think you had choices--you had feelings and you followed them---as we all should-----and we should without the condemnation of others who's point of view is generated by bigotry
good post. I find myself making more and more friends here who are either gay or bi, and I have changed a lot from it. On tuesday here in CA, I'll be voting 'No' on Prop 8, the controversial onee that would ban gay marriage again here.
Like you, I cannot let a church (the one I still attend!) tell me how to vote on this. I believe in God and (almost) all his sayings and commandments, but I just cannot justify telling two people who love each other that they cannot get married.
Especially when so many hetero marriages are in shambles, filled with disrespect and abuse, but are protected as more 'holy' out of tradition. If I go to hell for this, then well, I hope someone can explain this better at that point, before I accept my fate for my horrible error in judgment... ;)
Adonis
There are that many "Christian" religions teaching diverse interpretations--and so many people believing that they are the chosen ones--they can't all be right.
So if there is a judgement day, there is gonna be a lot of pissed off people.
I guess I'll see you down there.
I'll bring the beer
ha! deal. maybe I should bring some weed or shrooms...
Adonis
I'll stick with the booze and tobacco
But I'm hoping for the bad girls being there
Amen! er... you know what I mean!
