Every year I do my naughty and nice lists just like Santa.
But I work it the other way around--geez, maybe I could do a deal with Santa on the lists.
So anyone who has been real naughty, I send a Christmas card and an invitation---and those that have been nice all of the year, well, they get a quick email.
I really do like the naughty girls
Well, at least those who might want to be naughty.

Now where was I going with this---bloody wine---oh, yes, I've got it now
I knew that I had something to say.

So every year, I am the first person to send out the Christmas cards and every year I get the same number back
So I thought---are these people just being kind and sending back card for card.
Are these people really friends---do they actually think about me.

I don't have any immediate family and really only keep in touch with one cousin and one second cousin---the rest of the list are "friends"---some of whom, I only hear from once or twice a year.

So this year I am that guy---only sending back cards as I receive them---and then, knowing when the last deliveries will be, sending out cards to all of those on my list to say at least I thought of you.

It is a great time of the year to remember all of your family---even like me---all of those who are no longer with us.
Remember that you will regret---I'll guarantee this---you will regret not being there for any of your family when you no longer can be.
So be there for them now.
Forgive them for any indiscretions
Send them love and joy
It will cost you little but you will gain plenty.

I am lucky this year because my best mate is here from interstate and I will have lunch with him and his family----but the afternoon I will spend on the beach with my dog and remember my family.

Much love to you all

I don't send cards anymore, but when I sent them, I sent them to everyone I wanted to wish a Merry Christmas too. I stopped sending them because I think other people felt "obligated" to send one back to so .... Anyone who I am truly close to, I will speak to. But I will send you a card if you send me one ;)

Have fun with your best friend, Clyde. And give that dog of yours a big kiss from me :)

Love and joy to you.

Even though you'll just be sitting on the beach with our dog-remembering, I hope it's very peaceful.

I agree.
Not sending any cards this year, but will send you good thoughts instead :-)

It does seem like a reurn obligation thing---I suppose it's like writing letters---we just don't do it anymore.
I'd send you a card if I knew your address--but it probably wont get there for Christmas.
So how come the dog got the big kiss---oh well, just my luck.
Have a great family Christmas and may it be filled with love and joy

There are plenty of goode memories and a great time will be had by one dog dashing in and out of the water.
May you have a great time with family and friends

Thank you for your thoughts---
I hope you have the time off and can get some real family time.

Well said Clyde - it's too easy to forget that this is the season for forgiving as well as giving/ getting.

Merry Christmas! I'll be sending you a virtual sherry sometime on Christmas Day!

Almost is almost good enough--
But you do have your own little family---I would love to have kids around.
Have a fun day with your children

Clyde said...

Tis a little warm for a sherry but I will raise a beer in a toast to you cherub and of course the wonderful Ned.
It is a great time of the year to forget past indescretions and remember that family will always be family and good friends are hard to find.
Have a great day---hope the snow is not too deep.
Lang may your lum reek

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with that beaytiful little girl.

I think I had added you to the nicely naughty list

I think your invitation is dashing through the snow on a one horse open sleigh----but it's got bogged.

Have a great Christmas

That forgiveness thing is a tough one, particularly when it opens the door for more transgressions.

It's still the right thing to do, of course.

I once conducted a similar experiment to your delayed sending of Christmas cards.

I've always been a very talkative and social person and am quick to interact with others.

I wondered at the extent to which this trait accounted for my constant socializing, so one day I went to school resolved that I would not say a word to anyone who hadn't spoken to me first.

I spent most of first period in total disappointed silence until finally one girl turned to me and asked if I was alright--she was so used to me being bubbly that she took my quietness to mean something was wrong.

It may be that extroverts back ourselves into a corner by letting everyone assume we will always make the first move; when we really are down, others just think we don't want to talk.

Just telling it like it is said...

Did I tell you how much I love you...okay if you repeat this to me I will act like I don't know what you are talking about after all I am like the tin man...Your and you get people out of shit...thank you for being a faithful friend...that I will also act like I have amnesia too...much love to you this holiday xoxo Amie

If you can't forgive then you will carry a lot of baggage in your life.
You can remember and not be quite the target that you have been but don't live with bitterness.

We all do what we can with our talents.
Personally, I am very jealous of your abilities and compassion for people.
Of course you know that I keep coming to tour blog to hear about your sex life and see if there are any photos of your two best friends.
Have a woderful Christmas beautiful lady---enjoy every minute with your family.

And if you really think that I am going to repeat any of this admiration for you professionally, and for you as a person, oh, and for your body, well you are right.
Have fun
