HONESTY WORKS

Some people describe dating as a minefield.
They spend so much time trying to impress a new prospect that they lose sight of the truth.
It is not as though they set out to create a total false persona, they just exaggerate to make themselves more appealing or acceptable.

The problem with doing that is that you have to live up to your lies and in the majority of cases, you will get caught out

You may find that you are in a relationship that you like and you live in fear of discovery---or you decide that you should tell the truth.
Which ever way it goes, it is not the way to start a relationship.

If you cant be honest from the start, don't expect anything to last.
It may turn out to be just one date with a hamburger for dinner----or it could be more.
Try it---you never know where honesty will get you

Honesty is the best policy indeed, sometimes the truth hurts but I'd rather have the truth than be lied to!

aaah this brings back such vivid memories of fakocity and lies.
Ive had a lot of dates tell me things that i wondered were true or not...but since a lot of them never went beyond a few dates...it didnt bother me, but this one time, i dated this guy i felt i could fall in love with. He seemed so NORMAL and honest and so straight with it....you know?

Then when i went over to his place for the first time ever...about 6-7 dates later..i found in his little back room.... a FOREST of marijuana plants...complete with lights and black plastic cover up...

good grief.

the problem is...expectations.

truth...lies. what is said or what is not said...who cares.

It's just going out with a guy. It's not as if I believe anything anyone says or that it matters.

Before you go out with a guy...know him enough to know he is going to be fun. Just have a good time now.

later sweetie...

It is a stupid way to start any sort or relationship or association.
But when you are young, there is this great urge to impress

They say that the truth hurts---but I would rather the hurt than the lies

It could only happen to you--find a nice guy and he's growing a crop in his house.
I guess that's where you find it hard to trust
You just have to remember that they aren't all like that.
Hey, I'm that one guy in the world who has never smoked the stuff

If you don't believe anything any guy says, that's a sad way to go through life.
Some people actually do want to know you and are interested in you.
But you have to take that chance

Good for you Clydelicious!!

I have never understood the whole " pot is cool" thing.

Hey, I'm not saying that I wouldn't have tried it but I never had it offered to me and I never went looking for it---
I really don't understand the cool thing---if you go out drinking, you must get drunk ----na, sorry, I enjoy a beer, a nice wine and a winter glass of spirits and sometimes to excess, but I have never gone out to get drunk

hey clyde nice thoughts on the last couple of posts, I enjoy your blog probably more than most I have read. Especially love the ones about animals and horses post if you have more and some of thse stories would make great reading in a book of short stories perhaps you could write one, your literary skills are very good. clyde: don't pitty me. I do pretty well for myself mister. oh no...just cause a guy or girl says it, doesn't make it so. everything is what I percieve. It's all about me...just as it is for them. the hard part is making those two pieces fit. and they should never be forced.

He or she may lie...so what? What motivates that? Is it because he or she wants so desperately for me to like them and don't think themselves worthy. Is that a bad thing? Or do they have something other than that motivating them.

I don't play games and I don't make rules. I don't have a problem thowing a few bills on the table and walking away from a dinner date...if that person is a liar or a truthfull ass and that includes close friends.

And offering me a cheesburger without pickles for a hand job...he would be sporting a blackeye for a week and a half. hide behind truthfullness to be an ass is so not vogue when it is out of the entertainment business.

When I get to know a person..that can take a while...weeks months then...I will know the value of that person's words. Till then I expect nothing

hey...what I'm saying is this...who cares if they lie or not. I don't have time to worry aboout that or even care about it.

It's all mostly chemical anyway.
ciao. xx

I have a lifetime of horse stories--funny for a bloke who used to be intimidated by them.
I doubt anyone would want to read a book of my stories---and with limited literary ability, I think I would scare any publisher.
Thanks for reading--I hope you enjoy your visits
It's just my life

I dont pity you that you are so accepting of people.
Really, I just think you deserve a lot more

on the contrary I read 3-4 books a week and enjoy several genres and styles of writing, i think you could write a very good book of short stories and in todays day and age a lot easier to publish. Tonyb

Ha ha ha---thank you
Maybe instead of reading, you could write---you enjoy a variety of topics, so why not---a blog

Hmm, sounds like a fairly radical way to attack relationships, but I suppose you just get down to it

Why not

Other thasn the boil on the thight reference (blech), that was friggin' HILARIOUS! ;)

And you're right about the truth...but I think it took me getting a little bit older to realize it. When I was younger (in my 20's), I'd put on a bit of a persona...but now? What you see is what you get....you don't like it, move along...;)

Stacy

And what you see is a fine thing.
You're right---it takes a little growing up to realise that the truth is the best way
Oh, and I'm not moving on

I am one of those people that can get past anything as long as you are upfront and honest from the begining. Lie to me and I am done!
